Northwest’s Best is a monthly gallery of the best work in the territory

Rob Melton, Contributing Editor

Here at NWSP, we think it’s important to showcase the Northwest’s Best scholastic media journalism work in the form of issues, books, broadcasts, podcasts, stories, photos, videos, documentaries, cartoons, layouts, sports stories, advertising, editorials or whatever else you can dream up. We’ll seriously consider everything we get.

All you have to do is add us to your mailing list and send us a physical copy of your newspaper or yearbook. For you whiz kids, email us your web page URLs and let us know your social media addresses, and we’ll catch your work through your feeds on twitter, facebook, youtube or other favorite sites. You can use the galleries to inspire your staff, get new ideas, and see what others are doing. If your work is chosen, we’ll send you an attractive certificate to post on your Wall of Fame and share with your principal and school board.

Every month, we’re on the lookout for the Northwest’s Best, whether its a well-written human interest story, a great sports photo, or a staff that is exploring the digital frontier of scholastic journalism. Whether it’s from your yearbook, newspaper, video, podcast or online media, we want to know what you’ve been up to lately. Stay in touch with us this year.

If you’re sending us email attachments of your work instead of using snail mail, send it to us as a PDF, MPEG4, JPG, or MOV file. If it’s more than 15 megabytes in size, post it to,, or other hosting site and send us the link address. It’s that simple. If you set up your blog with an RSS subscription (using feedburner or other service) and send us the link, we will subscribe to your site so we can automatically be notified of your latest work.

We’ll ask our Pros to choose and comment upon the work we receive. We’ll post a sample of the winning work and a few of our pro’s thoughts about what makes it one of the Northwest’s Best on the web site — — to inspire everyone else to greatness.

Can we help promote your web site? Absolutely. Send us the link and we’ll post it at on our member sites page.
